Achilles Pain

Managing activity level and stress placed on the tendon is extremely important. Continuing on with activities through pain is often a bad thing to do and may cause further damage to the tendon. Maintaining some degree of activity is important in rehabilitating the achilles but continual overloading of the tendon will just make the recovery process a longer one.

I had my first appointment with Rob this week. It was easy to book online and had text reminder of appointment which I always find helpful. The waiting room was clean and bright and I was seen on time. Rob was friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. I highly recommend!

Tom has been exceptional in treating me since November 22. He has got me back on my feet with treatment and excercises. He is very professional and diagnosed the problem on the first appointment. I can highly recommend his services to anyone. Thanks Tom and Fairway Physio.

I received excellent care from Tom over a few months with a complex problem. He was polite, patient, explained what he was doing every time and helped me with exercises between each consultation. I would use Fairway Physio again in the future and recommend them to anyone.

First and foremost Rob listened, so important to be heard when you feel anxious. Rob did, what seemed to me, a thorough examination and explained his assessment of what he believed was wrong. Before seeing Rob I was afraid to move forward in case I injured myself further. I left the session very much reassured that I was in safe hands and had made the right decision to seek help from Rob.

Although research suggests this description is not entirely the whole story, it remains a useful, simple analogy to discuss with patients regarding the symptoms and prognosis of their condition.

We will discuss this further at our Shoulder Injury Seminar taking place within the rehab gym at Fairway Physio on Wednesday 15th May at 7pm.
Tickets will be available a little nearer the time. Keep your eye out on our social media pages, or, be notified of tickets first by subscribing to our mailing list at www.fairway-physio.co.uk

We look forward to seeing you there.

When delivering CPR to a child:

"Carefully remove any obvious airway obstruction. Give 5 initial rescue breaths. Compress the chest by at least 1/3 of its depth (which is approximately 5cm for a child). Use one hand for a child over 1 year to achieve an adequate depth of compression. The compression rate should be between 100-120 per minute". (A complete guide to emergency first aid at work).

We highly recommend that you educate yourself on an emergency first aid course to protect your family / friends / colleagues / clients and all those around you. Such a worthwhile thing to do.

Thanks to Sarah from TT First Response and TT Fitness who ran a 1 day Emergency First Aid At Work course at Fairway Physio on Friday this week. We had attendees from Scott & Wilkinson, Rachel Hearne Jewellery School, Noise Agency, Ratcliffe & Bibby solicitors and of course Fairway Physio Ltd staff who all enjoyed their day.
It’s great to refresh our first aid skills and learn a few new things.
We highly recommend having first aid skills. You never know if/when you might need them. If you want to host or even attend a first aid course, get in touch with Sarah.
