Achilles Pain

Managing activity level and stress placed on the tendon is extremely important. Continuing on with activities through pain is often a bad thing to do and may cause further damage to the tendon. Maintaining some degree of activity is important in rehabilitating the achilles but continual overloading of the tendon will just make the recovery process a longer one.

I had my first appointment with Rob this week. It was easy to book online and had text reminder of appointment which I always find helpful. The waiting room was clean and bright and I was seen on time. Rob was friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. I highly recommend!

Great thanks to Rob for helping me get mobile again after my crush injury just before Christmas. I have lots of exercises to do, but at least I'm mobile enough to do them 😁.Would recommend fairway physio to anyone who needs to get fit again. Thank you so much 🏋️‍♀️🏋️‍♀️⭐⭐.

Tom has been exceptional in treating me since November 22. He has got me back on my feet with treatment and excercises. He is very professional and diagnosed the problem on the first appointment. I can highly recommend his services to anyone. Thanks Tom and Fairway Physio.

I received excellent care from Tom over a few months with a complex problem. He was polite, patient, explained what he was doing every time and helped me with exercises between each consultation. I would use Fairway Physio again in the future and recommend them to anyone.

First and foremost Rob listened, so important to be heard when you feel anxious. Rob did, what seemed to me, a thorough examination and explained his assessment of what he believed was wrong. Before seeing Rob I was afraid to move forward in case I injured myself further. I left the session very much reassured that I was in safe hands and had made the right decision to seek help from Rob.

Here's Richard working hard in the gym at Fairway Physio. He's been working on developing greater strength in the left arm as we had found that it was notably weaker than the right arm. He has also been working to improve his core strength.

In this video, we can see his left arm has improved in strength over the last few months compared to our previous analysis. His core stability has also improved.

However, we can see that his left arm and core start to tire within this 30 second battle rope exercise. His core starts fantastically and he maintains posture while using the ropes really well, but, note how his body starts to move considerably more towards the end of the 30s period. We'll continue to work on strengthening the core and arms and I am sure Richard will make great progress. Well done Richard.
